Manila, Philippines – Isa nang ganap na batas ang Universal Health Care Bill. Kinumpirma mismo ito ni Pangulong Rodrigo Duterte sa isinagawang ceremonial signing ng ilang mga batas sa Malacañang. Sabi ng pangulo, sa tulong ng Universal Health Care Law, mabibigyan ng dekalidad at abot-kayang health care services ang mga Pilipino. Sa ilalim ng landmark bill, magiging otomatikong miyembro ng bubuuing national health insurance program ang lahat ng mga Pinoy bilang mga direct contributor o indirect contributor.

Ang mga direct contributor ay ang mga nagbabayad ng regular na health premiums habang ang indirect contributor ay ang mga senior citizens o indigents. Dito, palalawakin pa ang saklaw ng philhealth gaya ng libreng konsultasyon at laboratory tests.
